Getting there
Boats cross the narrow strait from the Caticlan jetty port; Cagban Port is the island's main passenger port.
When to go
Peak season is the amihan months, generally from around Christmas through February.

Before you go

General advice for travel in the Philippines, not facts about Boracay.

  • Bring some cash. ATMs can be few or empty in small towns and on islands, so ask your resort.
  • Ask the resort whether it takes GCash or cards for anything you pay on site.
  • Environmental, tour and terminal fees change. Check the current amounts with the resort or the local tourism office.
  • Boat trips stop in rough seas. Leave a buffer day before flights and check PAGASA advisories.
  • Ask your resort for the nearest clinic or hospital, and which mobile network works best there.
